Cookie policy

What cookies this site uses, why, and how you stay in control, in plain English.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage, which this policy covers too. This site asks for your consent before using anything that is not strictly necessary, in line with UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Necessary (always on)

These keep the website working and cannot be switched off. We use localStorage under the key lde-cookie-consent-v1 to remember the cookie choices you make, so we do not ask you on every visit. No personal data is collected. Our contact form is protected from spam by invisible Google reCAPTCHA, a strictly necessary security measure that loads only when you begin filling in the form; Google may set its own cookies as part of that check, and the form carries a notice saying so.

The booking form (Tradify)

Our booking enquiry form is provided by Tradify (tradehq.co.uk), the job-management system we use to schedule surveys. It loads only when you choose to open the form by pressing a booking button; nothing from Tradify loads before that, and a notice appears alongside the form itself. Within the form, Tradify sets its own cookies: functional cookies for the form, Google Analytics measurement cookies, and Google reCAPTCHA, which protects the form from spam. If you would rather avoid third-party cookies entirely, you can contact us by phone or email instead.

Analytics & performance (optional)

Our visitor statistics come from Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device, does not use cross-site tracking and does not build advertising profiles. Visits and interactions (for example, how many visitors tap our phone number) are counted anonymously and in aggregate. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, it does not require consent under UK privacy law. Separately, we use Google Tag Manager with Google Consent Mode: if you consent to this category, Google measurement tools (such as Google Analytics) may set their cookies. Until you consent, Google’s tags run in cookieless mode and store nothing on your device.

Marketing & advertising (optional)

If you consent to this category, Google advertising cookies (loaded through Google Tag Manager) may be set to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Until you consent, Google’s tags run in cookieless mode and store nothing on your device.

Functional & preferences (optional)

These would remember optional choices you make to improve future visits. No functional cookies are currently in use; your cookie preferences themselves are covered under Necessary above. If we introduce features in this category, they will only run with your consent and this policy will be updated first.

Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. Your choices take effect immediately and are stored only on this device.
